A Happy New Year of 2008!

Hope you celebrated the new year with friends and family wherever you were...

Thought I would be celebrating this new year alone in a small, crappy hotel room in Cairo....but after all, I ended up joining a local new year party with other tourists from Brazil, Korea, Ireland, India, USA - which was quite fun with lots of tasty local food, drinks (yes, real alcohol...which is hard to find in a "islamic" hotel) and dancing to egyptian music. Camping and sleeping under millions of stars (without tent) in the middle of white dessert and viewing sunrise from the top of St. Catherine Mountain in Sinai were definitely something to wrap up and start up one of the most exciting years in my whole life...Yes, life is still good on my end and hope it is the same for you. :-)

It was wonderful to have seen many of you in 2007.　The world is so small and I hope to get to see more of you again in 2008!

晦日の夜は
白い砂漠のど真ん中で
焚き火を囲み
満天の星空を眺めながら
床につきました
