Secret trip to Hong Kong...

Off the top of our heads, J and I decided spontaneously to make a trip to Hong Kong over weekend to make a surprise party for our dear friend L's 40th birthday....so I took an 1.5 hr flight from Taipei to HK...

While I am still far behind with updating my blog, I am heading to Taiwan from tomorrow for about one week to visit someone I became friends with in Stockholm.

Yes, my RTW trip is not quite ended and life is good. :-)

インド・プネ市でのボランティア体験その１ (Volunteer at Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune, India)

ムンバイから南西170kmに位置するプネ市に本拠を構えるSadhu Vaswani Mission　(http://www.sadhuvaswani.org）は、インド独立時代、パキスタン領シンド州からインドへ逃れてきた人々の間で精神的リーダーとして広く知られていたSadhu Vaswaniを教祖とする非営利の慈善団体で、現在は愛弟子であるDada J.P. Vaswani氏（2008年にはThe Ghandhi Foundation of USAから受賞）によって率いられている。

「他人の喜びが自分の幸せにつながる」（To be happy, make other people happy）という教義のもと、貧困層へ無償サービスを行う病院の運営、路上生活者や低所得者層の子供が通う学校への食糧配給、女子教育に重点を置いた学校経営など、多岐にわたる社会福祉活動、教育活動を、世界中のシンド人からの寄付、支援金を元に半世紀以上にわたって継続している。日本ではその存在はあまり知られていないが、その活動領域、規模はMission of Charity（マザーテレサによって始められた慈善団体）に引けをとらない。

インドではボランティアを旅の目的のひとつとしていたため、この団体が実施している数々の活動に2月上旬の1週間、参加することにした。事前に連絡をすれば、通常は信者用滞在施設として使用されているアシュラムに無料（しかも三食付！）で滞在することもできる。ただしアシュラム滞在中は、「ベジタリアンになること」「お酒は飲まないこと」「毎日三度行われるKirtanと呼ばれる詠唱の集いに参加すること」など守らなければならない条件があったけれど。 （To be continued...）



1日三度行われるKirtanセッション。早朝6時、9時、夜10時から各30分間（うち瞑想10分間）が行われる。

まだまだ書くことは沢山あるものの・・・

なかなかブログ更新が進まない。帰国してはや1ヶ月。この間、まずは規則正しい生活リズムを取り戻そうと日々せっせと家事、運動、図書館通いに精を出していたら、平凡な毎日を一日一日丁寧に過ごすことに喜びを見出し、そちらの方に完全に気が向いてしまって筆（？）が進まなくなってしまっていた。今日、ようやく外付けハードディスクを買って6000枚以上の写真をとりあえず落とし込むことができたので、写真で足跡を辿りながらぼちぼち更新していくことにします。
